We at NosVino would love to help get you into the spirit of the season and aid in your merry-making during this time of year.  We have specially selected a Holiday 6pk so perfectly versatile, it is sure to be a hit at any table or under any tree.

This year we wanted to represent wines from all over the world which would pair beautifully with traditional family dinners, thereby honoring our wonderfully diverse cultural foundations.  Whether you are indulging in an evening of fish, enjoying a goose, a pork shoulder, or are celebrating with something spicy and vegetarian, these selections will both complement and enhance your holiday feast.

For our whites, we begin with a bit of bubbly from Italy.  With lovely notes of apple and lemon zest and a crisp, clean finish, the Zago Extra Dry Prosecco is a light and bright crowd pleaser–a delightful way to toast family and friends and ease into the day’s festivities.  Spain awaits you next, and we have chosen the Lacrimus Tempranillo Blanco.  Possessing wonderful aromas of melon and citrus, with hints of ripe pear and an attractive saltiness, this lighter-bodied white is a great match for fish, poultry, salads, and lighter fare.  The Gassier Nostre Pais Blanc is a French favorite of ours which exudes balance and harmony.  This lush Rhone Valley blend has a delicate floral aroma and is magnificently soft on the palate.  With notes of sumptuous white fruit and a refreshing minerality, it pairs excellently with a variety of spices, vegetables, cheeses, seafood, and heartier white meats.

Our first red is the Averaen Pinot Noir: an American beauty from the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  An enticing cherry and alluring raspberry sweetness, skillfully balanced with mouth-filling notes of spice cake and a long, harmonious finish make this versatile light red a welcome addition to a wide range of dishes and friendly conversations.  We couldn’t resist going back to Italy (because, let’s face it, Italian wine makes you think of food) for the Sordo Barbera d’Alba.  This medium-bodied red from Piedmont, with its striking ruby and garnet hue, is as appealing to the eye as it is to the taste buds.  It is delightfully fragrant and full of flavor, with an impressive balance of delicateness and complexity.  This Barbera adores the company of grilled meats and pasta dishes.  For the big finish we look to Argentina and raise a glass (or two) of Sophenia Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.  This rich, hand-harvested red is intense in both aroma and flavor.  Vibrant notes of black fruit and spice, with hints of vanilla and smoke, come together in a way that can only be described as…Distracting (if you are trying to pay attention to anything else except how delicious this Cab is).

And there you have it, a Holiday 6pk that aims to please.  Make it part of your family tradition, give it as a gift, or switch things up and leave cookies and wine this year.  Everyone will be jolly.

Happy Holidays!
