Colheita Ports are single year Ports of a high quality level which have to be matured in wood for at least seven years. Normally they are bottled just before they leave our cellars, which may happen much later than the 7th year of age. For this reason, our Colheita Ports
Reserve Port has a bright, full ruby color with violet tones. On the nose, very distinctive with fresh blueberries and hints of eucalyptus and gum cistus; a very vibrant young Port with plenty of natural acidity but also balance and pedigree denoting its grade “A” vineyard origins.
Pretty date, caramel and hazelnut husk notes meld nicely, showing good cut through the ginger- and toasted sesame-infused finish. Starts frankly sweet and ends with mouthwatering cut. Drink now. 2,500 cases made.
Made from a traditional process known as sun-dried (soleo) Pedro Ximénez whereby the fruit turns to raisins. Then aged in casks for many years using the traditional Solera system within the ancient cathedral style cellars of Barbadillo. Estate bottled by Bodegas Barbadillo, producers of the finest sherries since 1821.
Straw yellow in color. The classic fino aromas are revealed on the nose; nuts, olives and the evocative suggestion of a patient ageing process. In the mouth it is sharp and exhibits full body and perfect balance.
