Each lot of Ilegal Mezcal Reposado is aged to taste for 6 months, using a combination of new and used American oak, medium char barrels. Barrels are sourced from Kelvin Cooperage, a family-run business since 1963. Notes of caramelized pear and bitter orange on the nose. Clove, butterscotch, and hints
Nose: Sweet, light colored fruit. Cinnamon with a dusting of anise. Light pepper and florals, minerals and arid earth. Flavor: Fruity agave sweetness. Black pepper punch, brininess and faint citrus. Coats the tongue nicely. Finish: Creamy, salty, peppery.
Twice Distilled, Cobalto is the carefully filtered. Completely chemical and addictive free from the field to the glass, the result is an exceptionally smooth tequila that maintains the natural essence of the agave and the land in which it was grown.
Aroma has lots of agave with just a hint of vanilla. The taste is sweet with baked agave at the front of the palate with a little caramel. The mouthfeel is medium and the finish is nice and long with a spiciness and tingling on the tongue. Excellent soft tequila
